Information Security Leadership

Omar Passos

CISO • Threat Intelligence • Corporate Investigations • Founder of zynTRIQ

I lead security that speaks the language of the SOC, the auditor and the board. I build ISMS/ISO 27001, RBVM, SOC and incident response programs that prioritize what actually threatens the business, and I turn exposure and vulnerabilities into risk measured in money. I also work in threat intelligence and corporate investigations.

Profile

Most companies only find out what they have exposed on the internet when someone outside finds it first.

And no answer to the question the board actually asks:

How much risk are we running, in money?

In more than 15 years in technology and security, I have watched this movie play out again and again:

  • Thousands of vulnerabilities in the scanner and a critical backlog that never closes.
  • Too many alerts, a team drowning in triage and missed remediation deadlines.
  • Every audit turns into a race against the clock.
  • When an incident hits, there isn't enough evidence to reconstruct what happened and decide fast.

My job is to turn that around.

From DNIT, TOTVS and Copel to scale-ups, from analyst to CISO, I have built ISMS/ISO 27001, RBVM programs, SOCs and incident response that prioritize what actually threatens the business.

  • −60%average vulnerability triage time
  • −45%critical backlog with RBVM and SLA governance

Corporate Intelligence and Digital Investigations

OSINT, evidence analysis, third-party risk and incident reconstruction to support business decisions.

That experience gave birth to zynTRIQ

An Attack Surface Management, Vulnerability Intelligence and GRC platform that connects exposure, vulnerabilities and financial risk (FAIR), aligned with ISO 27001, LGPD, PCI-DSS, CIS Controls and PPSI 2.0.

Threat Intelligence • Corporate Investigations

Intelligence that drives decisions

I use threat intelligence and digital investigation to answer concrete questions: who could attack us, how, what has already leaked, and who we are doing business with.

CTI

Threat Intelligence

Strategic, tactical and operational threat intelligence, tied to the attack surface and to SOC operations.

Exposure monitoring
Leaked credentials and data, forgotten assets and internet-facing services.
Vulnerability Intelligence
Prioritization by real exploitability, active exploitation and asset context.
TTPs and IOCs
Adversary mapping with MITRE ATT&CK and alert enrichment in the SIEM.
Executive reporting
Sector threat scenarios translated into risk and recommendations for the board.
INV

Corporate Investigations

Corporate intelligence and due diligence supporting legal, compliance and leadership in sensitive decisions.

Due diligence and third-party risk
Background on companies, shareholders and vendors ahead of contracts and M&A.
Internal investigations
Fraud, information leaks and misuse of access.
Evidence analysis
Collection and preservation with chain of custody, backed by SANS FOR508 training.
Incident reconstruction
Timelines, technical attribution and reports fit for legal and regulatory use.

Intelligence cycle

  1. 01PlanningIntelligence question, scope and legal basis agreed with the client.
  2. 02CollectionOSINT, technical sources and internal evidence, by lawful means only.
  3. 03ProcessingNormalization, correlation and evidence preservation.

Qualifications in numbers

Comparisons and correlations across the Information Security areas I work in. Levels are a self-assessment based on my career, projects and certifications.

Profile vs. role requirements

Pick a role to compare my level with what it usually requires. The margin is the average number of points above (or below) the requirement.

  • Strong

Strongest connections

  • SOC ↔ DFIR ↔ CTI

Detection, response and intelligence form one chain: every incident feeds new detections and threat hypotheses.

  • VULN ↔ CTI

Vulnerability Intelligence: I prioritize fixes by observed active exploitation, not CVSS alone.

  • DFIR ↔ INV

Forensic discipline (SANS FOR508) brings chain of custody and rigor to corporate investigations.

  • GRC ↔ VULN

RBVM tied to business risk, SLAs and audit. It is the foundation of zynTRIQ.
